Gatekeeper Announces Strategic Alliance with Motorola Premier Partner, McCord Communications

V.GSI

(via Thenewswire.ca)

Abbotsford, BC September 19th, 2013 Gatekeeper Systems Inc. ("Gatekeeper" or the "Company") (TSX.V: GSI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic business alliance with Motorola Premier Partner, McCord Communications.

Founded in 1947 and located in Anniston Alabama, McCord Communications is a Premier Partner with Motorola providing a broad set of technology, safety, security and communication products, and services for public transportation, education, law enforcement, corrections and commercial markets.

"As part of our plan to scale business we have forged a new partnership program and couldn't be more pleased to include McCord Communications under this umbrella. McCord has an impressive track record of executing on sales and service for its customers. Their corporate and people strategy synchronize with Gatekeeper's core values and beliefs and we are looking forward to building business together in the southern region of the United States. Our first order of business was to collaborate with one of McCord's law enforcement customers in an effort to design a public safety product we could introduce locally and build out globally. Trade named XFORCE(TM) (Xtreme Forward Optical Reconnaissance) System, it was designed to provide law enforcement personnel with a forward facing optical sensor system capable of collecting, storing, transmitting and managing mission critical data", said Doug Dyment, President and CEO of Gatekeeper.

Customers can choose from Gatekeeper's proven and reliable 304SD, a secure digital ("SD") card based digital video recorder ("DVR"), or the 504HD, a hard drive/SSD based DVR. Both of these DVR's support either cellular Live View or WiFi download capabilities. Coupled with the DVR is an option for a wireless microphone to record audio when the officer is away from the vehicle.

XFORCE(TM) (Xtreme Forward Optical Reconnaissance) System includes:

  • -.Three new cameras are available in the police package. The Z-37, a 37X zoom camera that will be aimed out the front windshield. The FS-5, an extremely low profile 700 TV Lines ("TVL") dome camera with Infrared ("IR") and audio, and the B-70 a 700 TVL camera with IR and audio. Both the FS-5 and B-70 are very compact so they can be easily mounted in the cramped confines of a police vehicle to view the rear seat.

  • -.Control of the DVR and viewing of either live or previously recorded video is achieved by using the Gatekeeper ICM (Integrate Control Monitor) or a web browser within a personal computer ("PC").

  • -.Since most police vehicles come equipped with a PC, Gatekeeper has included a web server in the two DVR's. By using Internet Explorer or other browsers on the PC, the officer can view all cameras live, control the zoom level on the front facing camera, or view previously recorded video.

  • -.By utilizing the officer's laptop, the equipment clutter in the vehicle is reduced, as an additional monitor is not required.

A spokesperson for the local law enforcement agency that provided the beta test commented, "We are impressed with the quality of the system and extremely pleased to witness two organizations work together with our team to custom design a system that meets the stringent requirements of a public safety vehicle environment".

Dan Catan, CEO of McCord Communications commented, "We have been collaborating with Gatekeeper for some time and have been impressed with their vision, flexibility to design products that exactly fit an industry, and capability to execute. The new strategic business alliance has significant potential for both our companies, customers and shareholders, and we are looking forward to increasing sales in the region with Gatekeeper".

The Company also announces that it has granted an additional 25,000 incentive stock options (the "Options") to a director of the Company, subject to regulatory approval. For clarification, and pursuant to the Company's news release dated September 12, 2013, a total of 225,000 Options (75,000 Options each) have been granted to directors of the Company, and 150,000 Options have been granted to the Chief Financial Officer. The Options granted, as outlined above, are to be considered compensation for the Board and CFO, as no monetary amounts are provided at this time. The Options are exercisable at a price of $0.30 per share for a period of ten years from the date of grant.
