TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - The fall television season kicked off in
style last night when 2.4 million Canadians watched the 65th PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS on CTV. Up slightly (+2%) and the most-watched since 2010, one-in-four
English Canadians watching TV took in the celebrity-packed event
honouring the stars of television, winning Sunday as the #1 program of
the night nationally and in all metered markets. Meanwhile, the Season
6 premiere of fan favourite CASTLE on CTV attracted 1.4 million
viewers, making it the #2 program of the night.

A closer look at Sunday:

Overall, THE EMMYS attracted 8.1 million unique viewers and peaked at 2.9 million viewers
during Elton John's live performance.

In Canada's largest television market, nearly one-in-three Torontonians
watching television last night tuned in to the broadcast. Attracting
double-digit ratings in total viewers and all key demos, THE EMMYS also saw double-digit growth in Toronto with total viewers (+15%),
A25-54 (+23%), A18-49 (+16%), and A18-34 (+16%).
Next week's episode of CASTLE airs Sunday, Sept. 29 in its regular 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot.
Viewers who missed the EMMYS can catch-up beginning today at CTV.ca. CASTLE is released on demand beginning Tuesday, Sept. 24 at CTV.ca and through on demand partners such as Bell Fibe TV.
