The 250MW Mojave Solar Project is one of several large-scale renewable energy initiatives that will enable the state of California to secure one-third of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2020. Under this contract Wood Group GTS is responsible for equipment installation, including precision alignment of the 'center-line' between steam turbine and  turbo-generator. Completion of this crucial task will ensure smooth start-up of the power plant and minimize risk associated with the operation of high-speed rotating equipment.

In addition, Wood Group GTS will perform final connection of essential services for successful operation of each turbine, rechecking all critical dimensions during the start-up and commissioning phase of both units.

"Mojave Solar is a high-profile project for ARB and California. We depend on the support of reliable partners to ensure timely delivery of the construction phase. We value our long-term relationship with Wood Group GTS and are confident of their ability to meet project deadlines," said Tim Healy president, ARB Inc.

Rob Duby, president  of Wood Group GTS Field Services Inc., said, "We have established a strong working relationship with ARB and have collaborated with them on multiple projects. This is a fast-track construction, so our track record and ability to meet key performance criteria were key factors in this latest award."
