Village Farms Finalist for Texas Employer of the Year Award

VANCOUVER, Oct. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Village Farms L.P., the wholly owned U.S. operating subsidiary of Village Farms International, Inc. (the "Company") (TSX: VFF) has been selected as a finalist for the state of Texas Employer of the Year Award by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

The Company is among one of five finalists selected for this prestigious award.  Of the finalist; Caterpillar Inc., Durcon Incorporated, Exxon Mobile Corporation, and GE Transportation, Village Farms is the only nominee in the Food and Agricultural sector.  Finalist were nominated for their contributions to their community's workforce through innovation and collaboration, while supporting TWC's mission of ensuring the state of Texas remain competitive in the 21st century.
