Avnet
Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader
and an operating group of Avnet,
Inc. (NYSE: AVT),
today announced a U.S. and Canadian distribution agreement with SAP
America Inc., a market leader in enterprise application software. This
significantly expands upon Avnet’s existing distribution agreement with
SAP in multiple Asia
Pacific countries, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and
Singapore.
Under the expanded agreement, Avnet will now provide its channel
partners in the U.S. and Canada with analytics, database and technology,

further on converged infrastructure opportunities in the data
center. Additional offerings include the SAP® Afaria®
mobile device management solution, SAP Business Objects™
solutions, SAP Crystal solutions, SAP Lumira™ software, and
SAP Sybase® software.
“Enterprise software is predicted to be the fastest growing segment of
the worldwide IT market in the coming year, and Avnet expects that our

partners capitalize on the opportunity this presents,” said Jeff
Bawol, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. “With our
proven solutions distribution methodology, Avnet plans to rapidly
educate and enable a community of partners on the industry, sales and
technical skills they need to help solve their customers’ business
challenges with enterprise software. Our partners will be able to
further differentiate themselves with an in-depth understanding of the
crucial role services and hardware play in ensuring the success of
enterprise software deployments.”
Avnet will provide its partners with a wide range of education,
resources, services and tools designed to help accelerate the profitable
growth of their enterprise software businesses. This includes:

Assistance in becoming authorized resellers of SAP solutions
-
Targeted data mining to help identify sales opportunities
-

“The channel is a vital part of SAP’s long-term growth strategy and will
help us solve customers’ business challenges related to analytics, big
data, converged infrastructure, enterprise mobility and beyond,” said
John Graham, head of Ecosystem and Channels, SAP Americas. “Avnet has
proven expertise in quickly recruiting, educating and enabling a
highly-skilled channel partner community that understands how to serve
as an extension of our sales force. We believe Avnet and its partner
community will be an impactful addition to our team. In cooperation with
our channel partners and distributors like Avnet, SAP can further help
our customers become better run businesses.”
Avnet’s enterprise software partners can also benefit from Avnet’s SolutionsPath®

IT solutions into high-growth vertical markets. These partners can use
Avnet’s SolutionsPath methodology to hone their expertise in the
high-growth markets for enterprise software, such as finance,
healthcare, energy, government and retail.
“Logicalis works closely with Avnet to develop our strategic roadmap,
and we see tremendous potential for our company in the enterprise
software market,” said Vince DeLuca, CEO of Logicalis U.S., an
international IT solutions and managed services provider, and Avnet
partner. “Because of Avnet’s new distribution agreement with SAP, we can
access a powerful new tool to solve our customers’ business challenges
related to analytics and enterprise mobility. Also, it provides us with
a key opportunity to expand our expertise into the software side of
solutions based on SAP HANA, which we anticipate will help us profitably
grow our business.”
