James L. Robo Appointed Chairman of NextEra Energy

JUNO BEACH, Fla., Oct. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE) today appointed President and Chief Executive Officer James L. Robo as chairman of the board, effective Dec. 13, 2013. Robo will succeed Lewis Hay III, who will be retiring as executive chairman effective on that date.

Robo became chief executive officer in July 2012. Prior to that, he served in several senior executive positions since joining the company in 2002.
