Toyota Announces Results for September 2013, April-September 2013 Toyota

Tokyo, Oct 28, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd., for September 2013 and for April to September 2013.

Production in Japan

Toyota
- First increase in four months
Daihatsu
- First increase in thirteen months
Hino
- First increase in two months
Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
- First increase in thirteen months

Sales in Japan

Toyota
- First increase in five months
- Lexus-vehicle sales totaled 4,549 units (20.0 percent increase)
- Minivehicle sales totaled 3,255 units (4.3 percent decrease)
- 43.6 percent share of market excluding minivehicles (0.04 percentage point
increase)
- 27.7 percent share of market including minivehicles (1.2 percentage point
decrease)

Daihatsu
- First increase in thirteen months
- Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 61,600 units (19.5 percent
increase); first increase in thirteen months
- 31.0 percent share of minivehicle market (1.6 percentage point decrease)

Hino
- Fourth consecutive month of increase
- Standard-truck sales totaled approximately 3,100 units (16.7 percent
increase); fourth consecutive month of increase
- 34.7 percent share of truck* market (1.3 percentage point decrease)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
- First increase in five months
- 40.6 percent share of market including minivehicles (1.0 percentage point
decrease)

Exports

Toyota
- First increase in eight months, due to increased exports to North America,
Asia, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa

Daihatsu
- First decrease in two months, due to decreased exports to Latin America,
Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe

Hino
- First decrease in two months, due to decreased exports to North America,
Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe

- Second consecutive month of increase

Production outside Japan

Toyota
- First increase in two months, due to increased production in Australia, Asia,
Europe, Latin America and North America; record high for the month of September

Daihatsu
- Seventh consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia

Hino
- Decreased, due to decreased production in Asia

- First increase in two months; record high for the month of September
