Kelly Services Receives Top Honors for Diversity Efforts
Workforce Solutions Provider Receives Multiple Recognition in 2013
TROY, MI--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2013) - Kelly Services, a workforce solutions provider to thousands of businesses across the globe, is pleased to announce several diversity awards including recognition from the Michigan Minority Supplier Diversity Council (MMSDC), for its global diversity solutions program.
As businesses face new challenges in accessing talent, companies need to become more innovative in how and where they look for talent by tapping into more diverse talent pools. At the foundation of Kelly's global diversity solutions program is the recognition that advancing diverse suppliers and fostering inclusion is not only a best practice, but a strategic business imperative in fulfilling the demand for talent. As a result, Kelly's partnerships with diverse and niche suppliers are more numerous and stronger than ever.
For the fifth consecutive year, Kelly was recently named the 2013 Corporation of the Year in the Professional Services category, and also received the Corporate One Award for the 13th consecutive year. Both awards were presented by the MMSDC.
The Corporation of the Year award recognizes companies who exemplify the spirit of inclusion and promote supplier diversity across their organization while assisting in the development of minority businesses within their supply chain. The Corporate One award honors those corporations that take a leadership role in supplier diversity by achieving five percent or more direct spend with minority businesses. Less than eight percent of corporations have received this 2013 recognition.
Kelly was also the recipient of the following recognition in 2013:
- "Best of the Best" by Professional Woman's Magazine as a Top Supplier Diversity Program. DiversityComm recognizes the nation's leading organizations that encourage active outreach and have established diversity policies for supplier diversity development.
- "Best of the Best" by Black EOE Journal as a Top Supplier Diversity Program. DiversityComm recognizes the nation's leading organizations that encourage active outreach and have established diversity policies for supplier diversity development.
- "Best of the Best" by Hispanic Network Magazine as a Top Supplier Diversity Program. DiversityComm recognizes the nation's leading organizations that encourage active outreach and have established diversity policies for supplier diversity development.
In addition to Kelly receiving these company awards, Brenda Marshall, senior director for Global Diversity Solutions, was honored as a "Top 30 Champions of Diversity" by DiversityPlus magazine. Selected from nominations submitted by 19,000 minority and women owned business enterprise suppliers, Ms. Marshall was recognized for her exceptional effort and success in advancing diversity in the nation's supply chains through innovative initiatives that help diverse businesses develop profitable and sustained relationships with Corporate America.
"Kelly Services is honored to receive the recognition presented by each of these organizations," said John Healy, Vice President and Managing Director, Talent Supply Chain, Kelly Services. "Not only does this recognition validate Kelly's efforts around diversity, but also honors what matters most -- our customers, suppliers and employees."
Through a long-standing commitment to its diversity processes, goals and initiatives, Kelly has been successful in creating an environment of inclusion and cultural integration that affords the company access to the best talent and a more sustainable talent supply chain that meets the ongoing workforce needs of customers.
