NEW YORK, Nov. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorney Advertising -- Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC is investigating potential claims on behalf of purchasers of the securities of Tesla Motors, Inc. ("Tesla" or the "Company") (NasdaqGS: TSLA). Such investors are advised to contact Peretz Bronstein or his investor Relation's coordinator Eitan Kimelman at info@bgandg.com or 212-697-6484.
The investigation concerns whether Tesla and certain of its officers and/or directors have violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. On August 19, 2013, Tesla issued a press release touting its Model S as having achieved the "best safety rating of any car ever tested" by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. ("NHTSA"). Then on October 2, 2013, an analyst downgraded Tesla due to "execution risk." That same day, a Model S burst into flames after hitting road debris in Kent, Washington. Reports indicated that the fire originated in the car's battery. Then on October 17, 2013 in Merida, Mexico, a Model S sped into a roundabout, crashed through a concrete wall and hit a tree. The driver fled the scene before the car went up in flames. The U.S. automotive Web site Jalopnik reported the story, citing from an October 18, 2013 Mexican newspaper Progreso Hoy. Then on November 6, 2013 shares of Tesla fell $25.75 or 14.56% during intraday trading to trade at $155.06 after reporting disappointing third quarter earnings the previous night.
