Celebrate Community Day with free movies and $2.00 movie snacks; all proceeds benefit the Canadian Olympic Foundation

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 12, 2013) - Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX) today announced it will host its third annual National Community Day on the morning of Saturday, November 16, 2013.

Guests are invited to Cineplex theatres across Canada to enjoy a free movie, and popcorn, soft drinks and select candy items for $2.00. All proceeds from concession sales benefit the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

"Community Day is a great opportunity for families to enjoy a free morning at the movies in support of a great cause," said Pat Marshall Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment. "Like all Canadians, we know our guests will welcome the opportunity to support our country's outstanding Olympic athletes."

"The journey to the top of the podium is long," said Leanne Nicolle, Executive Director, Canadian Olympic Foundation. "It is crucial that we, as a nation, continue to invest in our next generation of athletes. Doing so will ensure our young and talented Canadians have the financial support they need to pursue their sport dreams. We look forward to joining Canadians for a morning of free movies that will raise funds for our nation's sport system."

Cineplex and Canadian Olympic Committee employees will volunteer their time at theatres across the country in support of this important cause. Cineplex thanks Sony Pictures Releasing, Mars Canada and Deluxe Entertainment for providing product or services to make Community Day a reality.

A complete listing of movies and showtimes for your local theatre can be found at www.cineplex.com/CommunityDay. Seating for each movie is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Theatres will open their doors to guests at 8:30 a.m., with the first movies beginning at 9:00 a.m. All locations will return to regular programming on the afternoon of November 16, 2013.
