At the International Hotel/Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS), Cintas
Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) and Anthony Melchiorri, a hospitality
expert and television personality, revealed the results of their $25,000
Hotel Makeover at the Wyndham
Boca Raton. Designed to further enhance the hotel’s operations and
guest satisfaction, highlights from the makeover were unveiled during a
20-minute presentation attended by media, tradeshow attendees and
Wyndham executives.
“We are thrilled with the $25,000 makeover from Anthony and Cintas,”
said Ken Kaylor, general manager, Wyndham Boca Raton. “With help from
the experts, our guestrooms look, feel and smell outstanding. At a time
when online ratings are critical to success, we recognize the importance
of focusing on initiatives that support cleanliness, safety and guest
satisfaction.”
Selected as the winner in October, the Wyndham Boca Raton, located in
Boca Raton, Fla., decided to use the $25,000 in multiple ways. Using
Cintas’ deep cleaning service for air conditioning units, the hotel
reduced energy consumption and ensured that the units cool faster,
reduce humidity and prevent foul odors in guestrooms. To take their
cleanliness program a step further, the hotel also used Cintas’ Tile and
Carpet Deep Cleaning Service throughout all guest rooms and public
areas, including its hallways and conference spaces.
“As hoteliers, it’s our job to make guests feel as if no one has been in
their hotel room before,” said Melchiorri, a seasoned professional with
more than 20 years of experience serving the hospitality industry.
“Nothing lowers guest satisfaction scores faster than a smelly room,
which typically stems from dirty carpeting or dirty HVAC units. The
Wyndham Boca Raton covered both bases by getting its carpet and HVAC
units cleaned.”
For the next step in the $25,000 makeover, the Wyndham Boca Raton tasked
Cintas with designing a new custom mat that perfectly fits its main
entrance. The new mat welcomes guests into the hotel and helps maintain
cleanliness by capturing contaminants before they are tracked through
the hotel.
To complete the makeover, Cintas delivered new uniforms to the property’s
housekeeping department featuring breathable, comfortable and
functional fabrics.
“Our people are the most important part of our operation,” said Kaylor.
“To help show our gratitude, we wanted to invest in our housekeepers,
who work really hard and deserve to look and feel great too. The new
uniforms help accomplish this, and it’s been a remarkable change for
them as well.”
“It was a pleasure partnering with Anthony and awarding the $25,000
makeover to the Wyndham Boca Raton,” said Todd McKeown, Vice President
Global Hospitality and Gaming, Cintas. “Ken’s decision to invest the
winnings in a suite of products and services that will improve guest
satisfaction, hotel operations, and employee morale makes good business
sense.”
