Paralyzed
Veterans of America, a non-profit organization working to serve the
needs and challenges faced by American veterans with disabilities and
their families, today announced the national launch of its vehicle
donation program, Wheels
Helping Warriors. The program provides a new opportunity for
customers to donate critical funding that will improve the lives of and
empower disabled veterans. This marks the organization’s first
nationwide vehicle donation program.
Through Wheels Helping Warriors, supporters will be able to seamlessly
process their donated vehicles in order to support disabled veterans in
Paralyzed Veterans of America’s 34 chapters across the U.S. Paralyzed
Veterans of America gladly accepts a wide range of vehicles, regardless
of their current condition. Scheduling a pickup is free and donors
receive a tax deduction following the sale of the vehicle.
“This type of program is vital to Paralyzed Veterans of America’s
fundraising efforts,” said Bill
Lawson, national President. “It provides another opportunity for
donors to give, and allows us to continue the important work we do in
providing free veterans services, civil rights advocacy and ensuring
quality healthcare for veterans and their families.”
Paralyzed Veterans of America will partner with the Donation Division of
IAA, the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and
wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR). IAA’s
Donation Division provides non-profit organizations with complete
donation processing services – a key differentiator in the marketplace
that creates a simplified approach for participants. In 2012, well over
500 designated charities throughout North America have benefitted from
vehicle donations through IAA’s services.

About Paralyzed Veterans of America
Paralyzed Veterans of America was founded by a group of seriously
injured American heroes from the “Greatest Generation” of World War II.
They created a non-profit organization to meet the challenges that they
faced back in the 1940s — from a medical community not ready to treat
them, to an inaccessible world.
For more than 67 years, Paralyzed Veterans national office and 34 chapters across
the nation have been making America a better place for all veterans and
people with disabilities. www.pva.org.
