NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of McCann Health's expansion of its professional communications capabilities in North America, Susan Duffy is joining the New York-based McCann Regan Campbell Ward as president. In this role, she will take over the day to day running of the agency working directly with Maureen Regan, the agency's founder and chairwoman who will focus on business development for the group, as McCann RCW expands its services and continues its strong growth trajectory.
McCann Worldgroup has begun to expand McCann Health's U.S. operations in response to changes in the consumer and healthcare communications environment, in part related to healthcare insurance reforms. The company has launched an extensive investment program that includes talent, enhanced digital health platforms, and improved healthcare professional-patient information management programs.
"The professional healthcare communications landscape is undergoing dramatic changes in the U.S. as well as around the world," said John Cahill, global CEO of McCann Health. "We see great opportunity in the transformation of Pharma into Pharma 3.0 and the advent of increasingly personalized therapies and interventions. Technology is at the center of this transformation and our work in personalized health ecosystems over the last three years has put us in a good place to capitalize on these life science industry developments. Susan will bring sophisticated strategic capabilities and an infectious energy and enthusiasm to the next phase of McCann RCWs growth."
The addition of Duffy will strengthen the management team as McCann RCW builds out its professional communications capabilities with managed markets, high-level digital engagement and education tools designed to support new pharma brands. Maureen Regan will focus on business development to ensure that McCann RCW is well positioned in this dynamically changing pharma environment to capitalize on the market opportunities related to these changes. McCann RCW has built impressive science-based credentials over the last decade and, with the addition of its complex science unit, is well-positioned to assist clients as pipelines become more specialized.
Duffy was most recently a senior VP at Omnicom Group, where she helped lead the holding company's strategy for integrating and consolidating the network's global healthcare businesses. She has more than 10 years of experience working directly with blue-chip U.S. and global healthcare clients.
McCann Health, in addition to being named Healthcare Agency Network Of The Year for the second year running at the prestigious Global Awards show, is on pace for a record-setting new-business year. It has added a number of projects and/or brands from its existing clients that include Novartis, Novo Nordisk, GSK, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Janssen and Merck Serono. The agency saw new client wins of Kowa Pharmaceuticals, Mundipharma, Besins Healthcare (Thailand), Actavis (USA/MTL), Medac Pharma (USA/MRCW), Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma (Japan), Cleveland Clinic (UAE) and Hollister (UK).
