TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - CIBC (CM: TSX) (CM: NYSE) On December 4, CIBC traders and advisors once again gave up their commissions for a day to raise $4.6 million for children's charities and kids in-need.

"CIBC Miracle Day is all about helping kids build a better future," said Richard Nesbitt, Chief Operating Officer, CIBC. "The efforts and generosity of our clients, employees and special guests will help thousands of kids have a warmer holiday season and a brighter year ahead."

CIBC traders in Toronto were joined by a host of music and sports legends including Randy Bachman, Ed Robertson, David Clarkson, Joe Bowen, Roberto Alomar, and Michael "Pinball" Clemons, who walked the trading floor, spoke to CIBC clients, and volunteered their time to raise money for children's charities all across Canada.

"Since 1984, CIBC Miracle Day has raised nearly $74 million to help transform the lives of kids who need it most in communities across the country," said Monique Gravel, Head of CIBC Wood Gundy. "A heartfelt thanks goes out to all of the clients, employees and special supporters who truly make this all possible by believing that every kid deserves a miracle."

On trading floors in Toronto, New York, and London, as well as Wood Gundy offices across Canada, CIBC employees and clients helped to make this a great year for children's charities. Next year marks the 30th Anniversary of CIBC Miracle Day, which occurs each year on the first Wednesday of December.
