Leading global nutrition company, Herbalife
(NYSE: HLF), has been formally recognized by the mayor of Seoul
Metropolitan City for its efforts in developing and supporting child
welfare initiatives across South Korea.
Through its Herbalife Family Foundation, Herbalife has established four
Casa Herbalife programs in South Korea in collaboration with local
charitable organizations to improve the nutrition and lives of
vulnerable children. Through these programs, the Herbalife Family
Foundation provides financial grants, fund raising and volunteer support
to assist in projects that promote good nutrition and health for
children.
Herbalife Korea also runs programs promoting the physical and mental
development of children. The “Healthy Eating” program, in conjunction
with ChildFund, a Casa Herbalife program, teaches under-nourished
orphans basic concepts that help them understand the importance of
proper nutrition. The Herbalife Mentoree Baseball Team, made up of 21
children from a different Casa Herbalife, has been recognized as an
exemplary socially responsible initiative supporting underprivileged
children in rural areas.
Since 2004, Seoul Metropolitan City has recognized companies
demonstrating excellence and dedication in various fields. Herbalife is
the only multi-level marketing company to be presented with the highest
award for excellence in corporate social responsibility for child
welfare in 2013. Herbalife is also the first direct selling company ever
to win the award in South Korea.
