TORONTO, Jan. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - Bravo announced that following the
premiere of its highly-anticipated, original drama 19-2 on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET, CTV will support the series with its conventional television debut the
following day, Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10 p.m. ET. Set in Montréal, the 10-episode English-language adaptation of the
French Canadian juggernaut hit follows the lives of veteran city cop Nick Barron (Adrian Holmes, ARROW) and recently transferred rural officer, Ben Chartier (Jared Keeso, FALLING SKIES). Two men from very different worlds, Ben and Nick
anchor this richly nuanced, character-driven drama that explores their
journey as reluctantly partnered beat cops. Elegant storytelling,
complex character exploration, and a lyrical tone are the hallmarks of
this intensely psychological cable series.
Full episodes of 19-2 are available on Bravo.ca, and the Bravo GO app after their broadcast premiere. Airing
immediately following 19-2 is Season 2 of the Emmy®-winning series HOMELAND at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo, with the long-awaited season premiere also on Jan. 29.
"19-2 is a series we can't wait to debut," said Catherine MacLeod Senior
Vice-President, Specialty Channels and Bell Media Production. "The
teams at Sphere Media Plus and Echo Media have produced such a searing
and unforgettable drama for Bravo, it's poised to join the ranks of
must-watch TV."
In the premiere episode of 19-2, guilt-ridden Officer Nick Barron (Holmes) returns to work following a
deadly shooting. Meanwhile, Ben Chartier's (Keeso) transfer to Station
19 from Québec's rural police force turns rocky after a split-second
decision triggers an internal investigation.
In Episode 2, (premiering Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET) Ben's life is in danger after a showdown between rival street gangs
goes terribly wrong. Squad 19 gathers at Marie's for the Sergeant's
party, and Isabelle discovers Nick may have feelings for someone else.
19-2 also stars Benz Antoine as troubled beat cop Tyler Joseph, reprising his role from the original Québec series; Bruce Robert Ramsay (CONTINUUM) as manipulative District Commander Marcel Gendron; Conrad Pla (THE LISTENER) as Sergeant Julien Houle, who oversees Squad 19; Dan Petronijevic (SAVING HOPE) as the antagonistic J.M. Brouillard; Laurence Leboeuf DURHAM COUNTY as vivacious Audrey Pouliot; Maxim Roy (HEARTLAND) as Detective Isabelle Latendresse, Nick's estranged wife; Mylène Dinh-Robic (THE LISTENER) as the no-nonsense Beatrice Hamelin; and Tyler Hines (SAVING HOPE) as young, rookie cop Vince Legare.
19-2 is co-produced by Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media in association with
Bell Media. Executive producers are Jocelyn Deschênes and Carolyn
Newman from Sphère Média Plus and Luc Châtelain from Echo Media. 19-2 is an English-adaptation of the hit Québec series from the creators and
stars of the original, Réal Bossé and Claude Legault and director Podz.
Executive Producer Bruce Smith (DURHAM COUNTY) also acts as showrunner
and writer. Jesse Mckeown (DAVINCI'S INQUEST, ROGUE) and Virginia
Rankin are co-executive producers. Directors are Louis Choquette, who
also directed the series' pilot episode, and Érik Canuel. Production
Executives for Bell Media are Gosia Kamela and Tom Hastings. Trish
Williams is Director, Independent Production, Bell Media. Corrie Coe is
Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Catherine
