Cardinal Energy Group Engages MZ Group for Investor Relations

DUBLIN, OH--(Marketwired - Jan 9, 2014) - Cardinal Energy Group, Inc. (OTCQB: CEGX) ("Cardinal Energy" or "the Company") today announced that it has retained MZ Group as its investor relations advisor.

MZ Group will assist Cardinal Energy with investor relations, shareholder communications and investor outreach. MZ will target small and microcap investors interested in the energy sector, particularly high net worth investors and family offices.

Timothy Crawford, CEO of Cardinal Energy, stated, "We have assembled a talented team capable of growing shareholder value. We are extremely excited about the potential to significantly increase production in our 41 wells located in Shackelford County -- a prolific basin for oil. Through reworks of these previously producing wells, we are confident in exiting the first quarter of 2014 at 400 bopd from these wells alone."

"We are extremely impressed with Tim and his vision for the Company," said Ted Haberfield, President of MZ Group North America. "By identifying, acquiring and completing reworks on smaller, shallow wells in highly prospective areas, Cardinal Energy provides investors with an attractive opportunity to generate significant returns in the domestic oil and gas sector while taking on relatively lower risks. We look forward to helping the Cardinal Energy team introduce their story to a broad range of investors."

About Cardinal Energy Group, Inc.

Cardinal Energy Group, Inc. is an American company that produces American oil and natural gas. The Company is based in Dublin, Ohio. Cardinal focuses on known formations that have significant proven reserves remaining that can be produced economically. Cardinal targets fields with wells that may need remediation due to neglect or undercapitalization. The prospect must offer a strong up-side for production. The upside we seek in a prospect is twofold -- it must have the potential be restarted or have its current production increased using newer technology and remediation methods; it must also have additional lease acreage which can be further developed by completing development wells adjacent to existing producing wells. Cardinal exploits these undervalued assets by acquiring a majority working interest in the prospect and then applies the Company's calculated development plan. Cardinal also seeks acquisitions of over-leveraged companies when there is a clear upside from their purchase based on strong commodity prices. The Company operates throughout the Continental United States. More information on Cardinal Energy Group, Inc. is available at www.cardinalenergygroup.com.
