Hill Holliday CEO Karen Kaplan announced today that the agency has been
selected as agency of record for WHOLE WORLD Water, a social enterprise
that unites the hospitality and tourism industry to raise a billion
dollars for the estimated billion people that live without clean and
safe drinking water every day.
The assignment includes digital creative and media and will be focused
on driving engagement with WHOLE WORLD Water as a new way to do business
and raising awareness of water scarcity as an issue that deserves global
focus.
“WHOLE WORLD Water is a new initiative and an ambitious one, and we
needed a modern, aggressive partner to help us grow,” said Jenifer
Willig, co founder of WHOLE WORLD Water. “Hill Holliday was the obvious
choice. Their creative is top notch, their strategy is smart and
focused, and their media capabilities blew us away. We feel lucky to
have them in our camp, and we expect great things from them.”
“There’s only one thing more satisfying than generating great business
results for our clients and that’s effecting change to help solve a
global problem,” said Karen Kaplan, CEO of Hill Holliday. “WHOLE WORLD
Water takes the best ideas from business and societal enterprises to
create a win for everyone – business, consumers, the environment, and
most importantly, people around the globe who suffer from a lack of
clean, safe drinking water. We’re thrilled to bring our creative and
strategic resources to help spread the word about their revolutionary
idea.”
“Today nearly 1 billion people don’t have access to clean and safe
water,” said Karena Albers, co founder of WHOLE WORLD Water. “By uniting
a single industry on a non competitive platform, we can help eradicate
this issue. WHOLE WORLD Water is a business model that generates
significant money for the WHOLE WORLD Water Fund, but also allows our
members to increase revenue, reduce costs and dramatically reduce their
plastic waste.”
Launched on World Water Day, March 22, 2013, WHOLE
WORLD Water originated from a collective of creative thinkers who
were seeking sustainable solutions for the hospitality and tourism
industry, including Karena Albers, Jenifer Willig, and chairman and CEO
of Soneva Resorts & Residences Sonu Shivdasani. Advisors include founder
of Virgin Group and Virgin Unite Sir Richard Branson, environmentalist
David de Rothschild and Tree Hugger founder Graham Hill. The model is
simple: hotels, restaurants, and spas provide filtered still and
sparkling water served in cobranded, reusable glass bottles to their
guests, sell it, and contribute 10% of the proceeds to the WHOLE WORLD
Water Fund. 100% of the money will be invested in clean and safe water
initiatives around the world.
The win marks the first of 2014 for Hill Holliday. The agency enjoyed
great momentum in 2013, launching the new “Life’s Better When We’re
Connected” campaign for Bank of America and debuting the new Cadillac
work under chief creative officer Lance Jensen.
About WHOLE WORLD Water:
Developed to end the global water and sanitation crisis, WHOLE WORLD

the WHOLE WORLD Water Fund. Founded in 2012 by award-winning documentary
filmmaker Karena Albers, and Jenifer Willig, former CEO of the (RED)
campaign, the core belief of WHOLE WORLD Water is that if it is not good
