Huron Consulting Group Bolsters Huron Healthcare with Addition of Non-Labor Expert

HURN

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that Rick Roycroft has joined the Company as a managing director in its Huron Healthcare practice focused on performance improvements in non-labor expenses and supply chain management.

“Today’s budget constraints require that hospitals adopt a different approach to managing non-labor expense. The breadth and depth of supplies, drugs and purchased services available at organizations can account for up to 40% of operating expenses,” said Gordon Mountford, executive vice president, Huron Healthcare. “Hospitals and health systems must reexamine the entire thought process behind the use of supplies and purchased services and seek opportunities for enhanced efficiency and value. Rick’s experience in both cost management and non-labor expense will be a great resource for our clients and a welcome addition to our existing team.”

Roycroft has more than 25 years of experience working with various hospitals and health systems on clinical and operational improvements. At Huron Healthcare, Roycroft will join the Non-Labor performance solutions team helping clients find opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies. In addition, he will assist clients in developing their future supply chain strategies and in reducing non-labor expenses including supplies, pharmaceuticals and purchased services.

Roycroft joins Huron Healthcare from MedAssets Inc., where he served as regional vice president, Clinical Resource and Spend Management, focused on developing new business for group purchasing, supply chain services, physician preference cost reduction, pharmacy cost reduction, 340B optimization, lean transformation services and transitions of care.
