“This is a great honor, and I’m very proud to join the list of local business leaders who have won this award,” Cooper said. “I want to share this award with my executive team, the board of directors and our employees at TrueBlue. I want to thank them for all they do and also thank Seattle Business for recognizing TrueBlue.”

Under Cooper’s leadership, the Tacoma-based company has made several strategic acquisitions to expand its market presence. In addition to TrueBlue’s performance and growth under Cooper, Seattle Business cited the company’s commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves and to its employees’ health and wellness.

TrueBlue was the first publicly-owned company in Washington to receive gold-standard accreditation from the CEO Roundtable on Cancer for programs to reduce cancer risk and provide access to cancer care. Under Cooper’s tenure, it has also twice received the highest scores in its industry for corporate transparency and trust from Forbes magazine.

“Every day, around the country, we make a difference in people’s lives by connecting them to jobs, encouraging our employees to live healthier lives, and giving back to the communities where we live and work,” Cooper said. “We’re very proud of what we do and the people who work for us.”

Cooper has been CEO of TrueBlue and served on the board of directors since 2006. He joined the company in 1999; prior to being named CEO, he was chief financial officer for TrueBlue (then known as Labor Ready).
