Walgreens pharmacies throughout Florida receive additional shipments of
flu vaccine to help meet consumer demand for immunizations. Flu shots
currently available daily at nearly all of the more than 850 Walgreens
pharmacies and 57 Healthcare Clinics statewide. Healthcare Clinic
certified nurse practitioners can administer flu shots to those age 2
and older.
What: Walgreens announced its
Florida stores, along with those in many other U.S. states, have
received more flu vaccine and continue to offer flu shots daily with no
appointment necessary during all pharmacy and Healthcare Clinic hours.
Who: In Florida, Walgreens nurse
practitioners at Healthcare Clinics can administer flu shots to those
age 2 and older, pharmacists can administer flu shots to those age 18
and older. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends flu
shots for everyone over 6 months.
Why: The Florida Department of
Public Health reports an increase in flu activity that is now widespread
across the state. Isolated Walgreens locations that may have experienced
a temporary shortage in vaccine supply are again offering flu shots
daily.
When: Flu shots are available daily
during pharmacy and Healthcare Clinic hours with no appointment
necessary.

all of the 857 Walgreens stores and 57 Healthcare Clinics throughout
Florida.
