eMeter, A Siemens Business today announced that it has been positioned
by Gartner, Inc. in the "Leaders" quadrant of its recently published
Magic Quadrant for Meter Data Management Products 2013.
In the Magic Quadrant, Gartner, a leading worldwide IT research and
advisory firm, chooses its “Leaders” rankings based on a vendor’s
ability to pair advanced technology with broad offerings, rich
functionality. Vendors must also have the capability to configure their
solution to different needs, including solution offering on premises and
in the cloud. In the Gartner Magic Quadrant, twelve companies are
assessed on "Ability to Execute", covering aspects such as products and
services, overall viability, market responsiveness and track record,
marketing execution, and customer experience along with "Completeness of
Vision".
"We've had an opportunity to work with Siemens in the eMeter solutions
one on one to improve our analytics and outage capabilities. Our work
with them has allowed us to continue to improve what we're doing at
CenterPoint Energy and to share our learnings with other utilities
across the globe," said Gary Hayes, CIO & Vice President Information
Technology at CenterPoint Energy.
eMeter moves into the “Leaders” quadrant after being named to the
“Visionaries” quadrant in last year’s report.
“As eMeter executes on a cohesive IT/OT vision within Siemens Smart
Grid, our customers continue expand their adoption of our ever
increasing application suite such as Equipment Load Management, and Grid
Data vault applications, and our Analytics Foundation. Equally exciting
is the realization of eMeter EnergiIP 8.0 as a development platform
whereby we are working with many clients such as Centerpoint and others
on new products that will be developed by our clients, our partners, and
ourselves. We are delighted to be recognized by Gartner as a leader in
the Magic Quadrant for Meter Data Management Products; and look forward
to expanding this into other leadership areas.”
