Upgrades the LIFEBOOK AH42/M laptop and ESPRIMO FH52/M desktop computer; new cloud and support services offered
Tokyo, Feb 4, 2014 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu today announced the release of the FUJITSU PC LIFEBOOK TH90/P, a new convertible Ultrabook(TM) in the FMV Series of consumer PCs. The new laptop can also be used as a tablet, with both stylus and touch input available to suit four different modes of use. Adopting Fujitsu's proprietary "Shift HingeTM" construction, the LIFEBOOK TH90/P makes operation easy by changing styles, while offering a stylish form-factor. An exceptional example of function and design in one unit, the LIFEBOOK TH90/P brings together the technologies and attention to detail that Fujitsu has accumulated over many years.
Fujitsu has also upgraded two models for improved performance, the LIFEBOOK AH42/M laptop, and the ESPRIMO FH52/M desktop computer.
In addition, the company is introducing new services, specifically for the Japanese market. The first is the "Personal Computer Norikae Cloud Service," which makes it easy to migrate one's data and settings from an old computer (even running the Windows XP operating system) to a new one via "My Cloud Library." Next, available from today, is the "PC Tsunagete Lesson Personal Computer Norikae Pack," a service that offers specialist staff support via phone and remote access operations.
Key Product Features
1. The stylish LIFEBOOK TH90/P, a Convertible Ultrabook(TM) with four modes of use and stylus input
1) Various modes of use in a slim package
The convertible construction enables the display to rotate 180 degrees left or right and allows this laptop to instantly change form to suit four different modes of use. These are Laptop Mode for text input, Tablet Mode for pen input or Internet browsing, Presentation Mode for rotating the screen to share content with other people, and Theater Mode for watching movies. It has been designed to instantly adapt to the best mode for any use without being limited by its shape. With support for styluses that can detect 1,024 gradations of pressure sensitivity(1), users can jot down memos or make sketches with the feeling of writing on paper.
2) Attractive, functional design
The Shift Hinge construction, which reveals volume buttons only when in tablet mode, makes the computer easier to use and also maintains its sleek form when in laptop mode, hiding the hinge's irregular surfaces. The "Omni Design" is attractive from any angle, and brings together functionality and design.
3) Solid chassis and ample performance
The new computer takes advantage of high-spec parts for ample performance in a durable chassis with an "Ultra-compressed, solid core(2)" and machined aluminum(3) construction. Basic features include a high-resolution IGZO display with 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution, a high-strength Dragontrail(R) display that stands up well to bumps and scratches, the 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U Processor, and a 500-GB hybrid hard drive that combines high capacity with high speed. A long-running 12.5-hour battery(4) means that users can take it anywhere with confidence.
2. Two upgraded models with improved performance
On January 23, Fujitsu upgraded two models, one in the LIFEBOOK series of laptops and one in the ESPRIMO series of desktop computers. The LIFEBOOK AH42/M, a stylish laptop with a 15.6" wide-screen display, is now offered with the 4th generation Intel(R) Pentium(R) Processor 3558U, improving performance for a smoother experience.
The ESPRIMO FH52/M, a basic desktop computer, comes equipped with Microsoft Office Home and Business, which includes not only Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, but also PowerPoint and OneNote.
3. New feature for My Cloud: "Seicho Photo Movie"
A new feature being added to My Cloud is Seicho Photo Movie(5), which turns photos of children into a movie that documents their growth. With Seicho Photo Movie, the user only needs to select the person to be the subject of the movie to easily create a photo movie with music. And because photos are laid out by season and bundled by year, it's easy to look back on a child's growth.
