Four women at Ingersoll
Rand (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable
and efficient environments, were recipients of The Manufacturing
Institute’s 2014 Women in Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering
and Production (STEP) Awards. The STEP Awards honor women who have
demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent
all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to the
C-suite.
The STEP Award honorees from Ingersoll Rand are:
-
Katie Boor – Program Manager for Thermo King, a brand of Ingersoll Rand
-
Stephanie Davis – Director of Operations for Club Car, a brand of
Ingersoll Rand
-
Cyndi McDaniel – Plant Manager for Trane, a brand of Ingersoll Rand
-
Sheila Tierney – Vice President of Global Procurement, Corporate
“The Ingersoll Rand honorees serve as role models not only to
professionals currently in the manufacturing industry, but also to young
women who will one day enter the workforce,” said Michael W. Lamach,
chairman and chief executive officer of Ingersoll Rand. “We are proud of
their accomplishments to Ingersoll Rand and the industry.”
A recent survey by Deloitte and The Manufacturing Institute found that
nearly 70 percent of American manufacturing companies have a moderate to
severe shortage of available, qualified workers. The STEP Awards are
part of the larger STEP Ahead Initiative launched to examine and promote
the role of women in the manufacturing industry through recognition,
research, and best practices for attracting, advancing and retaining
strong talent.
“These 160 women are the faces of exciting careers in manufacturing,”
said Jennifer McNelly, president of The Manufacturing Institute. “We
chose to honor these women because they each made significant
achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company
and the industry as a whole.”
Ingersoll Rand’s recipients were recognized at a reception hosted by The
Manufacturing Institute in Washington, D.C., on February 6.
