Yelp Finds Dynamo for UK PR Retainer

YELP

LONDON, February 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Consumer technology agency to bring "thank goodness I have Yelp" moments to life

Dynamo PR ( http://www.dynamopr.com ) has been appointed as its UK agency by Yelp, one of the world's largest location based services, in the run up to its 10th Birthday celebrations later this year and before a global advertising push for Yelp's new tag line 'we know just the place'. Dynamo has been tasked with bringing its unique brand of creativity and results to both the day-to-day press office work and creative campaigns. Dynamo won the account following a three-way competitive pitch.

San Francisco based Yelp has over 53 million cumulative reviews of local business from restaurants, dentists, mechanics and plumbers across 24 countries and attracted an average of over 120 Million monthly unique visitors in Q4 2013. Yelp's reviews can be found baked-into Apple Maps and Siri on iOS, as well as in-dash in the latest BMW, Mercedes Benz and Lexus models, not to mention the latest wearable technology of Pebble Watches.

Elliot Adams, Senior European PR Manager for Yelp made the appointment: "Yelp exists to connect people with great local businesses, so we're delighted to have connected with Dynamo to run our PR in the UK. Dynamo have already established a pedigree with Silicon Valley companies and pride themselves on being 'unboring', one of Yelp's core values. They even slipped in a special 'Whiskey Sours' clause into the contract to make sure the team are regularly refreshed."

Peter Bowles, Co-CEO of Dynamo: "Yelp is a phenomenal tool for discovering hidden gems on the UK high street. One of the members of our team has been a Yelp Elite member for three years and has discovered all sorts of amazing places across London. Our team have a very broad remit to work across promoting the Yelp offering to consumers and helping small businesses realise the value in managing their free profile on Yelp as a means of attracting further custom."

Yelp floated on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2012 and the company is currently worth over $6 Billion. In October 2012, Yelp acquired Qype to further strengthen the comprehensive database of user reviews across Europe.
