TORONTO, Feb. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - CTV announced today it has all Canadians
covered for the biggest entertainment event of the year this Sunday. In
addition to the television broadcast on CTV, the network will unlock
CTV GO - the free app that provides livestreaming of Canada's top
programming - for all web and mobile users to enjoy the live broadcast
of THE OSCARS this Sunday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET. While an account with a participating TV service provider is typically
required, CTV is suspending that requirement during this broadcast as a
special showcase of the app and its content. Now, no viewer need miss a
moment of TV's most-watched and most-talked-about entertainment event
of the year.

"Unlocking CTV GO for the biggest awards show of the year provides a
terrific sampling opportunity on a massive scale," said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks. "We invite Canadians to check out the viewing experience that CTV GO
delivers each and every day."
Following the live broadcast, the entire awards show will be available
on-demand for encore or catch-up viewing for a full week, beginning
Monday, March 3 (or for two weeks for subscribers of participating
service providers).
In another first for this year, a CTV digital correspondent will be
positioned in the bleachers section of THE OSCARS' red carpet, live tweeting and posting photos on social media platforms
including Twitter (@etalkCTV and Instagram @etalkCTV) - providing social media users a unique fan perspective of all the
A-list arrivals. Viewers are encouraged to follow @etalkCTV and use the hashtag #Oscars. Online, CTV.ca will also be home to Oscar
red carpet photo galleries and up-to-the-minute news on all the night's
winners. Visit CTV.ca for details.
Hosted by the hilarious Ellen DeGeneres (THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW) for
