DD

WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DuPont has named Patrick Lindner as president of its Performance Polymers business effective March 1, succeeding Diane Gulyas who plans to retire in April following 36 years of service to the company.

"Diane has provided outstanding leadership, ingenuity and endless energy on behalf of DuPont for 36 years.  Her contributions have been impactful on many fronts including business leadership, mentoring and functional excellence.  She will be missed and we wish Diane all the best," said DuPont Senior Vice President James C. Collins, Jr.  "Pat's customer-facing experience coupled with his strong science background has prepared him well to lead the Performance Polymers business into the future.  He will help drive the advancement of our renewably sourced polymers further into the marketplace, addressing customers' emerging needs for sustainable innovations."

Lindner has served in a diverse range of business and technology leadership positions after starting with DuPont as a chemist in 1996.  Lindner provided leadership to DuPont's successful acquisition of Danisco before assuming his current role in 2011 as global business director for growth of the Electronics & Communications segment.

Gulyas advanced into progressive business and functional leadership roles, including assignments in Europe, after joining the company in 1978.  For the last 17 years, Gulyas has led several DuPont businesses, including as group vice president of Performance Materials, and she also served as the company's Chief Marketing & Sales officer.  She was appointed to her current role as president of Performance Polymers in 2009.  Gulyas is on the board of directors of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and she also provides leadership to several community organizations, including the United Way of Delaware, Ministry of Caring and Delaware Nature Society.

DuPont (NYSE: DD) has been bringing world-class science and engineering to the global marketplace in the form of innovative products, materials, and services since 1802. The company believes that by collaborating with customers, governments, NGOs, and thought leaders, we can help find solutions to such global challenges as providing enough healthy food for people everywhere, decreasing dependence on fossil fuels, and protecting life and the environment.
