TORONTO, March 18, 2014 /CNW/ - At the conclusion of last night's
episode of CTV's MASTERCHEF CANADA featuring the fourth Mystery Box challenge of the series, Carly Tennant,
a clothing retail store owner from Abbotsford, B.C. and now based in
Vancouver, was eliminated from the culinary competition.

Episode 9 Recap
The Top 9 home cooks faced an array of astonishing and exotic
ingredients that the judges count among their favourites from their own
restaurant kitchens. The home cooks who take the biggest risks are the
ones who reap the biggest rewards, including Kaila's perfectly roasted
squab (pigeon), and Tammara's efforts with an Asian -inspired
squab-based broth and home-made noodles. Ultimately, Danielle ekes out
the win with her monkfish paired with a sea urchin velouté. As the
winner of the Mystery Box, Danielle chooses Nanaimo Bars as the sweet
the home cooks must elevate into a fine dining dessert in the Great
Canadian Bake Sale elimination challenge. The kitchen is in chaos as
the cooks work feverishly to plate a MasterChef quality dessert, but
ultimately, many of the dishes fall desperately short of looking and
tasting good. Tammara finally wins her first challenge, with Eric
coming in second; they will be captains in the next team challenge.
Three cooks who are usually on top - Pino, Carly, and Marida - fall to
the bottom. Ultimately, a very emotional Carly is asked to leave the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen.

creating and selling one delicious crowd-pleasing dish to the masses.
After the public votes with their wallets, with all proceeds going to
