Harsh Winter Has Americans Seeking Sun Getaways

TZOO

Survey Reveals Hawaii, the Caribbean and the South Pacific are the Favorite Destinations

NEW YORK, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Travelzoo Inc. (NASDAQ: TZOO), a global Internet media company, revealed 71% of Americans are planning at least one warm-weather getaway in the upcoming months. One in ten Americans is planning three or more warm-weather getaways. The survey also revealed Hawaii, the Caribbean and the South Pacific were the most-desired sun destinations.

"After a winter dominated by the Polar Vortex, it's understandable that travelers are seeking warm-weather vacations. We're seeing deals for travel now through the end of spring with up to 60% savings on regular rates for areas such as Hawaii, the Caribbean and Florida," said Gabe Saglie, senior editor for Travelzoo. "To find the best deal, travelers have to be flexible either on their destination or their travel dates. And from our survey, we know at least 26% of Americans will do just that – let the deal determine their destination."

To help travelers plan their spring travel, Travelzoo Deal Experts compiled a list of warm-weather getaways. These deals include:
