Last night at the Grand Hyatt in New York City, Allison+Partners was
awarded Technology Campaign of the Year for its entry, “Dropbox: 100
Million Thanks.” As an agency awards sponsor CEO Scott Allison also
presented the Communicator of the Year Award to Edie Windsor, a pioneer
in the fight for gay equality.
The “Dropbox: 100 Million Thanks” campaign was designed to reach new
audiences with the message of how Dropbox could be useful to their
lives. The company’s wealth of interesting user stories hadn’t been
told, so the “100 Million Thanks” page was built to encourage users to
share these stories in an actionable way. It resulted in an overwhelming
amount of content from all over the world, and the PR campaign was
designed to illustrate these stories, both large and small, in a way
that would help the technology resonate with the general public
worldwide.
Equally important when reaching new audiences was increasing visibility
for Dropbox’s leadership team. To this end the agency developed a plan
to bring Dropbox’s first developer event “DBX” to life, highlighting its
unique partners, those developing on top of the Dropbox platform, and
sharing the interesting ways in which they use the technology to improve
the lives of users.
Earlier this week Allison+Partners also received four Bulldog Reporter
Media Relations Awards for client campaigns for ASICS America,
DuckDuckGo, The Economist and Samsung. The agency received a gold award
for Best Health Medicine & Fitness Campaign for its entry, “The ‘Other’
Marathon: ASICS LA Marathon”; a silver award for Best Campaign Under
$25,000 for its entry, “PRISM-Proof Search: DuckDuckGo Heralds User
Privacy”; a silver award for Best Use of the Internet & Digital Tools
for its entry, “The Economist: Creating Value In The Land Of The Free”;
and a bronze award for Best Technology Consumer Campaign for “Taking a
Smart Approach to Launching Samsung SMART Camera.”
