De Rucci Introduces New Mattress Line Based On Gentherm Heating And Cooling Technology At Asian Furniture Fair

THRM

New Products Well Received at International Famous Furniture Fair in China

NORTHVILLE, Mich. and GUANGZHOU, China, March 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gentherm Incorporated (NASDAQ-GS: THRM), the global market leader and a developer of innovative thermal management technologies, announced today that De Rucci Beddings Co. Ltd., a leading Asian mattress and bedding specialist based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, introduced a new line of mattresses with the Gentherm Climate Control Sleep System™ (CCSS™) technology at the 31st International Famous Furniture Fair in Dongguan.

De Rucci, which has more than 1,400 stores in Asia, established a relationship with Gentherm in 2013 that allows De Rucci to manufacture and sell mattresses heated and cooled through Gentherm's proprietary CCSS technology under the De Rucci 3D brand.  Gentherm's CE compliant CCSS technology, which provides individual controls via two wireless remotes to heat and cool each side of the mattress independently, allows for programmable cycling throughout the night to continuously set the temperature of the mattress to best suit the occupant(s).

"De Rucci is a very well-known brand in China and has a strong retail presence in Asia, which are both important factors for us as we expand our global market for mattresses," said Gentherm President and CEO Daniel R. Coker. "Our mattresses were very well received at the show and we remain enthusiastic about our prospects for making bedding products an important revenue generator for Gentherm."

About CCSS
The Climate Control Sleep System (CCSS) utilizes a highly-efficient, solid state thermoelectric device to direct warmed or cooled air to a special air distribution layer of the mattress through air ducts connecting the mattress to the foundation.  Two separate temperature zones have their own heat or cool settings for a personalized microclimate sleep environment.  There are five available settings in each of the heat and cool modes as well as an ambient setting.  The bed can be controlled using either the master control unit or one of the two remotes provided for each zone.  A clock and timer are also included in the master control unit to allow for preconditioning of the mattress and cycling in minute or hour increments for up to 8 hours of individualized comfort.
