HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - March 31, 2014) - Seaspan Corporation ("Seaspan") (NYSE:SSW) announced today that in connection with its previously announced public offering of 6.375% senior unsecured notes due 2019 (the "Notes"), the underwriters have exercised in full their option to purchase an additional 1,800,000 Notes. The sale of a total of 13,800,000 Notes, including the additional 1,800,000 Notes, is expected to close on April 3, 2014, for total gross proceeds of $345.0 million.
Seaspan intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include funding vessel acquisitions and repayment of indebtedness under outstanding credit facilities. Following the offering, Seaspan intends to file an application to list the Notes on The New York Stock Exchange.
