Socrates Named 'Greatest Hipster in History' at Inaugural Irony Games

Covenant House Also Winner With $10,000 Donation From H&R Block Through HipsterTaxCrisis.com

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Apr 2, 2014) - After a week of intense voting at HipsterTaxCrisis.com, Socrates was elected the "Greatest Hipster in History" with 31.7 percent of the votes in an announcement made at the first Irony Games in Seattle.

The star of "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and Greek philosopher, Socrates just barely bested historical luminaries including President Abraham Lincoln, who finished with 31.4 percent of the votes. The esteemed Albert Einstein finished in third place with 28 percent of votes for the award already being considered on par with the Teen Choice Awards, Nobel Prize for Peace and the Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year.

"I'll be calling like Mr. Socrates later to congratulate him on receiving this immense honor," said ESPN anchor Kenny Mayne, who's been leading a campaign to educate hipsters about taxes and highlight their greatness at HipsterTaxCrisis.com. "My money was on Jack Kerouac but either way, it's very important to have an award like this while helping today's hipsters understand their pasts while educating them about taxes and ironic mustaches."

Presented by H&R Block, The Irony Games was hosted by comic Kyle Ray, with music from Seattle's Elk & Boar and Chicago's The Flavor Savers, and raised charitable funds -- via a $10,000 donation from H&R Block -- for Covenant House International serving homeless youth.
