Citrix today announced the launch of GoToMeeting
Free, a web-based communications platform that gives users quick and
simple video sync-ups. With just one click, GoToMeeting Free is a fast
way to instantly communicate, whether discussing a project with
colleagues or just chatting with friends in another country.
GoToMeeting Free, which is now accessible via Chrome browser, offers
free, unlimited-use video conferencing for up to three people. It is an
entirely browser-based platform that allows users to seamlessly join an
audio/video call without needing to log in, download additional
software, or enable plug-ins.
“GoToMeeting Free is yet another example of how we are responding to
customer needs to create innovative communication tools that reach a
broader audience,” said Phil Chambers, product line director,
GoToMeeting. “Offering a free, lightweight version of GoToMeeting meets
the needs of everyday consumers while also giving business users
confidence in a secure platform backed by Citrix. GoToMeeting Free can
be used for work or play, on the fly, at any time and from anywhere.”
"We worked closely with Citrix to enable GoToMeeting Free, first for the
Chrome browser," said Rajen Sheth, Google director of product
management, Chrome for Business and Education. "Available now in the Chrome
Web Store, this app provides easy-to-use, instant video conferencing
on Chrome or Chromebooks, with the power of cutting edge browser voice
and video technologies enabled by Web RTC."
