Defense Information Systems Agency Selects BAE Systems' XTS Guard for Enterprise-Wide Information Assurance

BA, SNEX

BAE SystemsXTS® Guard has been selected by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as an enterprise-wide security standard. It is being utilized by DISA’s Cross Domain Enterprise Services (CDES) to ensure the agency’s ability to securely share information among authorized users within the Department of Defense (DoD) and across the Global Information Grid.

“The DoD has an unprecedented need to share information securely while maintaining the highest level of cybersecurity,” said DeEtte Gray, president of BAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security sector. “With more than 700 worldwide deployments, our XTS Guard has a longstanding track record of securing sensitive data of all classification levels, and it’s an important tool for defending against insider threats.”

The XTS Guard is a high-assurance, cross domain solution that enables secure information sharing between networks of various security classifications and enclaves. A single guard is capable of handling 20 domains and carrying multiple data types at high speed. It will specifically be used to protect the agency’s email, file sharing, and system chat features.

According to DISA, BAE Systems’ XTS Guard delivers increased performance over legacy guards, reducing overall costs while supporting DISA’s data center consolidation goals and movement to cloud architecture.

DISA provides consolidated cross domain solutions on behalf of DoD components, and develops a robust cross domain fielding capability under the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s instruction. CDES supports U.S. Combatant Commands Services by implementing, fielding, and providing life-cycle service support for cross domain solutions and other enterprise-wide information security solutions.

BAE Systems provides intelligence and security services to manage big data, inform big decisions, and support big missions. BAE Systems delivers a broad range of solutions and services including systems development, IT, cyber operations, and intelligence analysis to enable the U.S. military and government to recognize, manage, and defeat threats. The company takes pride in supporting critical national security missions that protect the nation and those who serve.
