Intelligent lighting solutions company Lighting
Science, announced the appointment of
Jennifer Sethre as President, and Randy Mortensen as Executive Vice
President of Sales and Business Development, effective immediately. Both
executives will be based at the company’s headquarters in Satellite
Beach, helping to expand its international manufacturing and worldwide
sales channels.
Before joining Lighting Science, Sethre founded Lumena SSL, Inc. to
provide premier commercial LED lighting products to the U.S. market.
Sethre oversaw strategic planning, research and development, product
design, manufacturing and marketing and sales. Previously, Sethre was
President of Boto Limited, the largest manufacturer of seasonal products
in the world. Sethre has over 15 years of experience in Chinese product
manufacturing and has cultivated an expertise in building relationships
with international manufacturing partners. She also has extensive sales
and marketing relationships with America’s largest retailers, including
Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Sears, Kohl’s, Target, Costco, and The Home Depot.
Sethre will leverage her sales, marketing, operations and executive team
management expertise in support of Lighting Science’s high growth goals.
“Jennifer brings an impressive set of diverse skills and experience
perfectly aligned with our opportunities today,” said Craig Cogut, Board
Chairman of Lighting Science. “I am excited to have Jennifer as a part
of the Lighting Science management team. Her comprehensive background in
international manufacturing, sales and operations will lead the company
in creating expanded product manufacturing capacity and bring
technologically advanced lighting solutions to our customers and channel
partners.”
In his role as Executive Vice President of Sales and Business
Development, Randy Mortensen brings 30 years of experience in sales and
management. He served as Vice President of Sales and Operations for
Energy Masters International, an unregulated energy services company
that was a subsidiary of a $10 billion utility company based in
Minneapolis. The current LED lighting retrofit trend very closely models
the business opportunities and rapid market acceptance he guided in that
position. Mortensen spent the last 8 years as President of World Wide
Village, a non-profit organization providing clean water, education,
sanitation, healthcare, and job creation to communities in Haiti, the
Bahamas, India, Zimbabwe, and Liberia. Mortensen also served as Chief
Executive Officer of Water Monitor International, a technology
development company.
“Randy is a world-class talent whose ability to connect and build
relationships will greatly serve the Lighting Science team,” said Craig
Cogut. “I’m excited for the contributions he will make in integrating
our existing sales and development capabilities to further drive the
company’s success.”
