Hatch®,
the leading early childhood education technology provider announces
plans to host a hands-on learning
experience with classroom technology for early childhood educators,
a collaboration with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT),
the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions. The four
“Hands-on with Head Start Technology Learning Zone” sessions will be
held at the National
Head Start Association (NHSA) Conference in Long Beach, CA on April
30 – May 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST.
“Hatch partnered with Microsoft to create this hands-on learning
experience to give more educators the opportunity to interact with the
most sophisticated technology available for early childhood education,”
said Dana FI Love, PhD, Hatch’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
“More than 500,000 children have experienced Hatch
software in the classroom, and our goal is to ensure that every
at-risk child is given equal opportunity to benefit from technology that
prepares them for success in school.”
”We know learning is most effective when students are involved in
engaging and hands-on learning experiences,” said Andrew Ko, general
manager, U.S. Partners in Learning, Microsoft Corp. “It’s never too
early for students to start learning and with Microsoft devices and
services, coupled with Hatch programs, pre-K educators are prepared to
help lead students toward a successful learning career before they start
Kindergarten.”
Learning
Zone sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and
2:45 p.m. Educators will get hands-on practice with brand new Hatch
hardware and Microsoft Windows®-driven software created for early
childhood education. Education technology experts from Hatch and
Microsoft will model best practices for using technology with young
children, and then support educators as they interact with interactive
displays, tablets
or multi-touch
tables. Hatch-led sessions will focus on using research-based
software to personalize learning, track progress, manage behavior issues
and strengthen parent-teacher relationships. Microsoft
will discuss the importance of using touch technology in education and
how Windows-based touch software develops 21st Century
learning in children.
