Ecova Earns 2014 Accreditation from CDP to Help Companies with Carbon Accounting

AVA

Ecova, a total energy and sustainability management company, today announced it has earned accreditation from CDP as a silver software partner for the third year in a row. The accreditation reflects Ecova’s continued success helping its clients accurately calculate and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with the use of Ecova’s carbon accounting solution, Carbon Manager.

“By offering an energy service package, Ecova can perform greenhouse gas emissions calculations for clients using their utility billing data, thereby avoiding a data-entry hurdle for that client,” said Paul Robins, CDP’s Head of Corporate Partnerships. “This is one of many benefits that Ecova provides, and we are delighted that they will continue to be a CDP silver software partner in 2014.”

CDP is an international, not-for-profit organization providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. Considered the de facto standard for carbon disclosure methodology and processes, more than 4,500 companies reported to CDP in 2013. Accredited partners of CDP work to encourage the highest-quality reporting and disclosure of data that is related to climate change, such as carbon emissions.

“We were hearing regularly from investors, customers and potential customers that they wanted to know what we were doing around environmental responsibility, and we wanted to be able to address the diverse questions of our knowledgeable and engaged stakeholder base,” said John Thaler, Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Pitney Bowes. “Having a company like Ecova manage our carbon data for us has created consistency in how it is captured, calculated and reported; their tools make it a simple process.”

“Tracking and managing greenhouse gas emissions is becoming an increasingly essential business strategy for companies in today’s eco-conscious society,” said Jeff Heggedahl, CEO of Ecova. “Ecova has access to more than 2.5 billion energy data points, which provides the data foundation needed to properly manage, track and report on a company’s GHG emissions. As one of 13 accredited CDP software partners, we are proud of the role we play in helping our clients be responsible environmental stewards and on the leading edge of business practices.”

Ecova’s comprehensive Carbon Management Solution combines Ecova’s Carbon Manager Software, a suite of analytic tools built on a foundation of high-resolution consumption data and in-depth industry knowledge, with its Carbon Consulting solutions, a team of industry-leading carbon management experts who assist in development of right-sized carbon management programs. With more than 50 carbon accounting clients and direct access to clients’ primary data, Ecova has data management expertise and a breadth of experience unrivaled in the industry.
