GE Chooses Box to Power Global Collaboration in the Cloud

GE

Box announced today that it will bring its cloud content collaboration platform to General Electric (NYSE: GE). With this agreement, GE will empower its employees to intuitively collaborate and securely share files from any computer, phone, or tablet.

“In today’s mobile-first, cloud-first world, providing our employees with secure access to content at any time using any device is critical to creating a more productive, connected workforce,” said Jamie Miller, senior vice president and CIO of GE. “Moving to a cloud technology like Box allows us to centralize all of our content and provides more efficiency, speed and simplicity for our employees.”

“GE is at the forefront of bringing intelligent data to industrial machines and processes to create new ways of working,” said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box. “They’re applying that same creativity and innovation to their information technology strategy, empowering employees with better access to information, and ultimately driving more productivity and collaboration organization-wide. We are incredibly excited to work with a company that’s helping to drive and define the information economy.”

GE’s IT organization, tasked with bringing innovative, cutting-edge technology to roughly 300,000 employees located in more than 170 countries, selected Box to:

  • Make it easy for employees to collaborate across business units and with external parties;
  • Unify business information across applications, thanks to Box’s open platform and integration with other cloud and on-premise solutions; and
  • Provide IT with the control and administrative capabilities required to govern and protect sensitive content at scale.

Box and GE both place a strong emphasis on creating environments that foster productivity, efficiency and collaboration. By deploying Box to power better ways of working, GE joins global brands such as Procter & Gamble, McAfee, Schneider Electric and Pearson. Box makes it easy for more than 25 million individuals at 225,000 businesses around the world to share and collaborate across devices, while also providing IT departments with unparalleled insight and control.
