NGC today announced that Sport Obermeyer and Fashion Avenue Sweater
Knits have been named as 2014 Top Innovators by Apparel Magazine
for their successful implementations of NGC’s fashion software solutions.
Apparel Magazine’s annual Top Innovator awards recognize apparel
retailers, brands and manufacturers who have demonstrated exceptional
deployments of new technology in unique ways that have improved their
business.
Sport Obermeyer, a popular skiwear apparel company based in Aspen,
Colorado, won as a result of its rapid deployment of NGC’s Global
Enterprise Suite. Sport Obermeyer replaced its enterprise systems with
NGC’s software — including fashion PLM, Supply Chain Management, apparel
ERP and Warehouse Management systems — in only 4 months, an
extraordinary accomplishment. NGC’s systems improved gross margins by
approximately 14 percent in the first year alone, and the solutions are
on track to deliver ROI (Return on Investment) in only 21 months,
according to Gregory Bannister, chief operating officer, Sport Obermeyer.
New York-based Fashion Avenue Sweater Knits, a leading importer of
quality children’s and women’s apparel, was recognized as a Top
Innovator based on its implementation of NGC’s fashion
PLM and Supply Chain Management software. NGC’s software has played
a key role in helping Fashion Avenue reduce product development time and
achieve faster speed to market. “PLM and Supply Chain Management are
most effective when integrated in an end-to-end process,” said Austin
Mallis, VP of operations, Fashion Avenue Sweater Knits. “For us to be
successful we need software that takes us from start to finish in the
product lifecycle, and NGC’s solution allows us to do that.”
“Each year the Apparel Top Innovators highlights the fashion
industry’s most successful technology implementations, and NGC is
honored to have two of our customers recognized this year,” said Mark
Burstein, president of sales, marketing and R&D for NGC. “Sport
Obermeyer and Fashion Avenue Sweater Knits have demonstrated exceptional
leadership and innovation, and we congratulate them on their
accomplishments.”
