June 4, 2014-- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced
today that, in April 2014, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech
EF Data Corp., received a $1.1 million follow-on order for
infrastructure equipment. A Mobile Network Operator (MNO) in Southeast
Asia will utilize the equipment to support a cellular trunking network
expansion. The order specified the CDM-760 Advanced High-Speed Trunking
Modem, companion redundancy switches, transceivers and amplifiers.
The operator was previously utilizing the Comtech EF Data CDM-750
Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modems. In preparation for the network
expansion, the MNO evaluated the latest high-speed model, the CDM-760
Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem. The CDM-760 was selected as the
model to deploy based on its spectral efficiency, higher speeds and
support for Automatic Uplink Power Control (AUPC).
The CDM-760 is the most efficient, highest throughput, point-to-point
trunking modem available. It can accommodate even the most demanding
telco backhaul links by offering users the most advanced combination of
space segment saving capabilities while minimizing the need for
unnecessary overhead.
Also ordered were the DT-4503
Down Converters, the CSAT-5060
C-Band Transceivers and the Low-Noise
Amplifiers.
Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech
Telecommunications Corp., commented on the order, “This order is
confirmation that our next generation products deliver additional value
for our customers.”
