MONTREAL, June 11, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 4th Québec Wind Industry Gala, organized by the TechnoCentre éolien in
Gaspé (Québec, Canada) on June 10, awarded Boralex Inc. ("Boralex" or
the "Corporation") as Business of the Year.
Having nominated Boralex in the Developer and Operator of wind farm category and Étienne Champagne as Personality of the Year category, the Corporation was awarded by the jury, in recognition of
the excellence of our entire application, the highlight prize of the
evening instead.
It goes without saying that the achievement, with our partners Gaz Métro
and Valener, of the Seigneurie de Beaupré Wind Farms, the leadership
there has been demonstrated in terms of health and safety and the
mobilization efforts, have contributed to this recognition. These
factors, combined with our recent wind power progress in Québec, more
specifically in Côte-de-Beaupré and Témiscouata regions, and our real
concern to build sustainable long-term relationships with our host
communities due to our unique developer-operator profile, convinced the
members of the jury of the relevance of Boralex as the winner of this
award in 2014.
Patrick Lemaire insisted in his acceptance speech that "this
recognition, we share it with all our partners who are essential to our
success, but, first and foremost, with the team of Boralex. The Québec
team, but also the teams of Canada, France and the United States that
have allowed us to acquire a solid experience in wind and an expertise
as an operator of energy sites." He also mentioned the pride he has
towards the wind industry in Québec which, in only a decade, has built
a diversified manufacturing chain, developed many suppliers business
that succeed here and abroad and set up high quality wind farms.
