UTC Aerospace Systems welcomed Rep. Doug Lamborn to its Colorado Springs, Colorado Facility

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems' Interiors business recently hosted Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO), Fifth Congressional District, at its Colorado Springs, Colorado location. The Interiors business unit designs, builds and supports specialty seating products including the famous Air Force ACES II® ejection seat system which has saved 620 lives worldwide since going into operations in 1978, and is operational on all Air Force F-15, F-16, F-22, A-10, B-1 and B-2 aircraft. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.  (NYSE: UTX).

Congressman Lamborn recently supported legislation approved by the House Armed Services Committee and the U.S. House of Representatives to support qualification of the ACES 5 ejection seat giving the Air Force new capabilities and improved safety for pilots wearing helmet mounted devices.  The Colorado Springs facility produces state-of-the-art specialty seating products for commercial and military aircraft.  This was Doug Lamborn's second visit to the Colorado Springs specialty seating site since taking office.

With about 385 full-time employees, the Interiors' Specialty Seating business is one of Colorado Springs largest manufacturing employers.

During his visit, company executives provided Rep. Lamborn with an overview of Interiors' global operations, the site's history of nearly 89 years in Colorado Springs, and a tour of production operations.
