Citrix today announced that it has been awarded the HP AllianceONE
Partner of the Year award in the Servers-Moonshot category. Citrix and
HP have collaborated on the development of the HP Converged System 100
for Hosted Desktops with Citrix XenDesktop®. These solutions are ideally
suited for HP and Citrix customers in the public sector, healthcare,
education and financial services markets. The HP Converged System 100
for Hosted Desktops with XenDesktop is a solution that delivers
simplicity in deployment; management and scale; an uncompromising user
experience and reduced TCO. In addition, the solution breaks through the
challenges of virtualizing and managing PCs by offering predictability
in operating costs, performance and the ability to scale. This award
builds upon a strong relationship across multiple technology areas,
including application and desktop virtualization, mobility and cloud.
The HP Converged System 100 for Hosted Desktops is based on the HP
Moonshot ProLiant m700 Server. Citrix XenDesktop is the first hosted
desktop solution available on Moonshot. The HP Moonshot was recently demonstrated
on stage during the day-two general session at Citrix Synergy™
showing customers an unprecedented level of simplicity, low-cost and
performance. Citrix XenDesktop is the only hosted desktop solution that
can offer all the power of dedicated computing for each user without the
need for hypervisors or SANs.
“It is an honor to receive this award from HP. Our collaboration extends
across multiple fronts and our combined solution, the HP Converged
System 100 for XenDesktop, provides simplified deployment and management
of hosted desktops with an uncompromised user experience. Together, we
are helping our customers deliver a mobile workspace solution for their
users,” said Calvin Hsu, vice president of product marketing, Desktops
and Apps at Citrix.
For almost two decades, HP and Citrix have collaborated to secure
mission-critical data, simplify IT deployment and enable mobile
workspaces that deliver apps, desktops, files and services to any user,
on any device, over any network. Citrix and HP are continually expanding
their collaboration into new areas such as virtualizing high-performance
3D graphics apps with the HP DL380z virtual workstation. Announced
at Citrix Synergy, the HP DL380z virtual workstation with NVIDIA and
Citrix, leverages NVIDIA GRID technology to provide a secure,
high-performance solution for delivering 3D apps with XenDesktop and
HDX™ 3D Pro.
