Last year, Navient employees in Wilkes-Barre collected 27,876 pounds of food during the "Christmas in July" event — more than any other participating local business.

"We are proud to once again participate in the Christmas in July Food Drive, which benefits so many community agencies and local residents," said Tracy Stine, senior director, Navient, an organizer of Comedy Club Night. "As an organization, we are committed to United Way and its mission to help others."

Comedy Club Night is open to the public for those over the age of 21. Showtime will begin at 9 p.m. at the Wise Crackers Comedy Club at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Doors will open at 8 p.m. Guests can expect basket raffles and a silent auction. Tickets will cost $15 each. Please call 570-821-3647 to purchase pre-sale tickets.

Eagan has performed at some of the nation's best venues, including New York City's Comic Strip Live and Dangerfield's. With more than 25 years of experience in comedy, he is known for his hilarious storytelling, coupled with his unique stand-up style.

In addition to Comedy Night, Navient plans fun workplace events and fundraising activities to support the food drive. Employees plan bake sales, auctions and a raffle to win reserved parking spots. One of the most successful fundraising efforts is "jeans for charity." Employees can purchase a pass that allows them to wear jeans for up to a month.
