T.BBD.A

- Six supplier sites received a Bombardier Achieving Supplier Excellence (BASE) award - Three suppliers recognized for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) stewardship

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 12, 2014) - Bombardier Aerospace today recognized six supplier sites for their remarkable performance last year, supporting Bombardier's strategy of delivering an exceptional customer experience through superior performance. The company also recognized three suppliers for their focus on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The following supplier sites have distinguished themselves through their high quality and delivery standards in 2013 and are proud recipients of the fourth edition of the Bombardier Achieving Supplier Excellence (BASE) awards:

  • Asco Aerospace Canada Ltd. (Delta, British Columbia, Canada)

  • Cytec Industries Inc. (Greenville, Texas, USA)

  • Cytec Industries Inc. (Ostringen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany)

  • Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (Longueuil, Québec, Canada)

  • UTAS Interiors Winslow Life Raft Company (Lake Suzy, Florida, USA)

  • UTAS Wheel and Brake Services (Santa Fe Springs, California, USA)

These suppliers were all presented with bronze BASE awards, having met the basic requirements of the supplier recognition program. In addition, UTAS Interiors Winslow Life Raft Company received the superior silver BASE award as it attained additional requirements in terms of on-time delivery, agility, defects and defects per million.

"Maintaining our world-class performance, competitiveness and track record of excellence and innovation requires strong collaboration across our value chain," said Kristopher Pinnow, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. "The outstanding reliability and flexibility these six BASE program award winners exhibited in 2013 demonstrated that they have embraced Bombardier's promise of creating better ways to move the world. This recognition is a testament to their efforts."

The BASE recognition program, which has rewarded 32 supplier sites for their performance since the program's launch in 2011, is based on an evaluation process where top performing suppliers are measured on quantifiable performance indicators. Bombardier Aerospace expects both high quality and on-time delivery from all its suppliers.

Three suppliers, 3M Company, Eaton Aerospace LLC and Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. were also presented with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) supplier award. Given for the fourth consecutive year, this award is based on an evaluation of the supplier's quantifiable CSR achievements.

"At Bombardier Aerospace, Corporate Social Responsibility is integral to how we do business and we need our suppliers to make CSR an important component of their operations," said Hélène V. Gagnon, Vice President, Public Affairs, Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility and Achieving Excellence System. "This award is our way of recognizing their significant efforts and their commitment to achieve a global, sustainable supply chain."

In 2014, for the first time, Bombardier was listed among the top 25 of the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, an annual index released by Toronto-based media and investment advisory company, Corporate Knights Inc. each year during the World Economic Forum in Davos. In the 2014 Global 100 index, Bombardier is the top ranking company in the Aerospace and Defense industry, is among the top three Capital Goods companies globally and is the second highest ranking Canadian company on the index out of 13.
