QUEBEC CITY, July 14, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Close to 200 National Bank employees can proudly say "Mission accomplished!" after putting their heart, soul and energy into cycling through the scenic Chaudière-Appalaches region as part of the 4th edition of the One for Youth Bicycle Tour. In all, they succeeded in raising over $100,000 for youth initiatives.

"This year's One for Youth bicycle tour was a resounding success as Bank employees once again rallied to support youth by mounting their bikes for this exhilarating ride. Hats of off to the 58 participating teams and the many volunteers, partners and supporters who made this fundraising event such a success. We are proud to support youth in this way and to be able to count on our valued employees, as ambassadors, to go the distance each year to help young people grow and thrive," stated Kathleen Zicat, Senior Vice-President - Personal Banking, Quebec and honorary chair of the event.

The funds raised will be used to support the objectives of various foundations operating throughout Quebec, such as Tel-Jeunes, and lend a hand to four organizations in Quebec's Chaudière-Appalaches region, namely, the Fondation pour l'éducation de l'École Pointe-Lévy (which promotes education), the Pôle régional pour l'enseignement de la science et de la technologie (which promotes science and technology in elementary and high schools), the Fondation Maurice-Tanguay (which helps children with disabilities across Eastern Quebec) and the Fondation Audrey-Lehoux (which assists young farm producers).

Since the start, this initiative has raised $293,000 for young people and mobilized more than 600 National Bank employees. To view highlights of the 300 km ride, we invite you to view the photo album of the event.
