Fujitsu Makes GLOVIA G2 Production Management ERP Solution for Manufacturers Compatible with Cloud Service

FJTSF, FJTSY

Tokyo, July 15, 2014 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu has announced that FUJITSU Enterprise Application GLOVIA G2, the company's production management enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for assembly manufacturers, is being made compatible with cloud services as of today.

This service builds on the company's experience with some 1,200 deployments in and outside Japan, extending the benefits of the GLOVIA G2 production management ERP solution beyond on-premises installations by using the proven and highly reliable NIFTY Cloud(1) service - which boasts a track record of over 3,000 projects in japan - as an IaaS platform.

Use of a cloud-based system enables customers in the assembly manufacturing industry to have greater flexibility in their production management operations, delivering a scalable system that can meet changing business needs without necessitating platform infrastructure.

This service is being offered in Japan and Malaysia. NIFTY Cloud contracts are available only in Japan.

Background

In the manufacturing sector, companies need the ability to handle constant change as they move into new business areas or expand into overseas markets. This requires an ICT platform that is flexible and quick to deploy. To meet these needs, Fujitsu has made GLOVIA G2 compatible with cloud service so that companies in the assembly manufacturing industry can deploy a production management system more quickly and less expensively while optimizing their existing IT assets.

Benefits of GLOVIA G2 Cloud Services

1.Outstanding flexibility in responding to different operational needs

Customers use a web-based console that gives access to NIFTY Cloud resource-management functions for bringing additional servers online, taking them offline, and running backups, giving customers access to a flexible and scalable system that enables fast responsiveness.

2.Individual customization

Using their virtual server in the cloud, each customer can build a thin-client environment of their own. Customers can also customize their own browser-based operating screens, and can create simple screens with just the elements needed for their production management tasks making a more efficient operating environment.

3.Connects to existing production management systems

GLOVIA G2's production-management functions running in the cloud can connect to a customer's existing on-premises environment to create a hybrid cloud environment.

Sales Targets

Sales of JPY 1 billion by fiscal 2017 (Fujitsu's fiscal year ends the last day of March).
