The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation
dedicated to improving children's lives by helping organizations provide
healthy nutrition to vulnerable children, recently opened its second
Casa Herbalife program in Australia in partnership with Lighthouse
Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending youth
homelessness.
The new grant will support Lighthouse Foundation’s nutrition program,
which teaches young people how to lead a healthy lifestyle through
nutrition education and physical activity. Through this grant, HFF will
assist Lighthouse Foundation in promoting health and wellness among
homeless young people coming from backgrounds of long term neglect and
abuse.
“The Herbalife Family Foundation’s support will enable young people
served by the Lighthouse Foundation to have broader access to better
nutrition and wellness services,” said Robyn M. Browning, executive
director of Herbalife Family Foundation. “We hope that this support will
empower them to be better equipped at making good health choices when it
comes to what they eat and how they stay active.”
Established in 1991, Lighthouse Foundation supports homeless young
people to take their rightful place in the community by giving them a
home, a family and therapeutic care that is proven to work. There are
eleven Lighthouse homes in Melbourne and regional Victoria, where
live-in specialists support young people.
For more than two decades, Lighthouse Foundation has successfully
assisted hundreds of young Australians with employment and educational
opportunity, which builds independence, creates a connection to their
community, and helps them define goals for themselves.
The Casa Herbalife program was established in 2005 to help bring good
nutrition to children living in orphanages, using after school centers,
and other non-profit facilities around the world tasked with helping
under-served young people. After the initial financial grants made by
HFF, the organizations receive local financial and volunteer support
from Independent Herbalife members as well as Herbalife employees.
To date, HFF supports over 100 Casa Herbalife programs globally and
serves the daily nutritional needs of more than 120,000 children around
the world through annual grants to NGOs and charities that cater to
vulnerable children.
