TMX Group Equity Financing Statistics - August 2014

TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for August 2014.

Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in August 2014, down from 17 the previous month, and down from 10 in August 2013. The new listings included 2 mining companies, 1 structured product and 1 oil & gas company. Total financings raised in August 2014 decreased 37% compared to July 2014, but increased 10% compared to August 2013. The total number of financings in August 2014 was 41, down from 77 the previous month, and down from 47 the same month a year earlier.

TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in August 2014, down from 6 in July 2014, but up from 3 in August 2013. The new listings included 3 companies from the Capital Pool Company program and 1 oil & gas company. Total financings raised in August 2014 decreased 74% from July 2014, but increased 18% from August 2013. There were 107 financings in August 2014, down from 160 in July 2014, and down from 111 in August 2013.
